Dicken Heath really started after finding a Lebus sideboard in a charity shop just before Christmas 2019.
After walking around the shop and I kept coming back to this one particular piece of furniture. I had to think about it carefully as I knew it wouldn't fit in the back of the car and I was away at the time on a work assignment.
After I had been staring at it for about 15 minutes I just had to have it and I couldn't risk losing it, so I was straight on to the couriers and that was that, the fascination with mid century furniture really took off.
Having studied design, I always appreciated fabrics, architecture and interior spaces so it felt like a natural fit.
I use the best fabrics for the Ercol cushions as I enjoy good quality in the weave and texture and because good quality lasts longer.
And the name Dicken Heath? That comes from the pedigree name of my childhood Golden Retriever, who we knew as Max.
